Look who's rolling into our Main Ring!
We’re already bursting with excitement and we know it’s only March but we can’t help it and we have to share the good news – THE OFFICIAL JCB DANCING DIGGERS ARE COMING TO OUR SHOW!
These magnificent bright yellow machines, skilfully handled by a team of 8 elite operators, will be performing a brand new routine to music twice each day in our Main Ring. With JCB celebrating their 80th anniversary year in 2025 we’re incredibly lucky that they’ve selected our show for a very rare and super-special treat performance. This is a once in a generation, unforgettable performance that we are so proud to bring you.
As if that weren’t enough, then there’s an incredible programme of demonstrations, competitions and activities around our showground. We’re packed solid with non-stop countryside and farm-related entertainment.
Get your farming fix and get up close to over 350 cows, 700 sheep, 150 pigs and goats – there are so many different breeds to see, all pampered and preened to perfection. We’ll have commentary to help explain more and you’ll be able to walk through all the livestock areas to meet the animals after each session’s judging has finished. Competition for horses also tops the bill with everything from Main Ring showjumping through to Shires, miniatures, scurry driving, coaches and carriages to watch and enjoy.
New for 2025 is a change of pace with something a little slower also paying us a special visit – a collection of majestic Giant Tortoises from the UK’s leading display team are having a bank holiday weekend away at our showground! Visitors of all ages can learn about these incredible animals and enjoy a really unusual, special encounter.
The Dorset Axemen will be chopping and sawing away in a funny display to thrill the crowds. Their speed and skill are nothing short of incredible, with the occasional lucky onlooker invited to have a go! The ever-popular Sheep Show returns so you can learn all about different sheep breeds, shearing and uses for wool (and marvel at the very clever performing sheep!), then if you want to see something a little more exotic, head over to our Country Sports Zone where you’ll find birds of prey along with insects, reptiles and meerkats with the interactive Wildlife Displays team.
Steam and vintage enthusiasts can take a wander through the hundreds of vintage tractors, cars, lorries and machinery on display. Watch traditional techniques in live demonstrations with the farriers and ornamental blacksmiths going head to head in their weekend’s competitions too.
The lindyhop dancers will be back shuffling, jumping and jiving near the beautiful, calm environment of the flower and vegetable tent. The beekeepers return, as do the fly fishers and pond dippers, the archers, the coppice crafters, the gundogs, the hounds and the terrier racing and much, much more!
Visitors are welcome to relax and soak up the atmosphere or to indulge in a little retail therapy. Stalls selling everything for homes, farms, gardens and gifts will be on site alongside food and drink producers from across the region with their delicious real ales, gins, pies, biltong, cakes and much, much more!
There’s so much to see and do, all included with your discounted advance ticket which can be used on either day. Get your tickets now!
