Things to see and do at the E&O Show
This much-loved show promises its visitors a fabulous summer day out, jam-packed with fun for all the family. We bring the best of main ring entertainment to thrill the biggest crowds, but remember the detail too with animal encounters, countryside activities and exhibitions, crafts and shopping for homes and gardens.
By popular demand the The Dorset Axemen will also be joining us again with their thrilling display of skill and stamina as they make mincemeat of enormous lumps of wood with their razor sharp axes and saws. They'll show you their traditional techniques of chopping and sawing in a very light-hearted display as they compete for fastest axe of the day.
Get up close with hundreds of animals!
There are more animals gathered together here for close encounters with visitors than at almost any other event in the entire South East. Our livestock competitions feature cattle, sheep, goats and pigs all competing for red rosettes. We'll have a bearded dragon, bees, cattle, chinchillas, cockroaches, dogs, falcons, ferrets, goats, guinea pigs, hawks, horses, meerkats, mules, owls, pigs, ponies, rabbits, scorpions, sheep, snakes, spiders and even giant tortoises!
See more of life in the countryside
Our Country Sports zone includes a lake for fishing tutorials and demonstrations, masterclasses and competition for some of the most accomplished gun dogs in the country. Meet the hounds with footpacks and foxhounds, learn about mole control and falconry from experts in their field.
Competitions for farriers and blacksmiths continue throughout the weekend and the terrier racing on Monday is an absolute must-see event - enter your short or long-legged terrier for a chance of glory! Sunday sees our Fun Dog Show (entries on the day) and Monday our Working Terrier Show.
Enjoy a refreshing local ale as you watch hedgelayers, hurdlemakers, stickmakers and woodturners at work and browse the specialist country sports shops.
Horses are a huge part of country life, from the smallest British Miniature Horses through to the most magnificent Shires in their colourful finery. Enjoy the thrills of the showjumping classes with top name competitors and the skills of the side saddle display. Many of our classes are qualifiers for the Horse of the Year Show.
One of our horsey highlights is the coaching 'four in hand' competition. A team of four elegant equines lead their historic coaches in a display that brings to life the glamour and traditions of time gone by. Not to be missed! For those keen to make sure they watch the coaching, driving and scurry classes then you'll need to come on Sunday. For Shires and Miniature Horses then you'll need to come on Monday. If you can't decide and don't want to miss anything then take a look at our Membership options which give you entry for both days.
The competition isn't restricted to horses and dogs though - we're one of just a handful of shows that puts the hard work of Britain's livestock farmers and smallholders in the spotlight. Our show is time to shine for well over 1,000 cows, sheep, pigs and goats. Get up close to see how they're preened and polished to perfection for their big moment in the show ring.
Our Flowers & Vegetables marquee is the place to be for those who like to admire displays by both professional and amateur plantspeople. There's always excitement in this marquee as entrants compete for the title of Master Gardener 2025. Beautiful floral art creations mix with exotic orchids and dahlias.
Food & Drink
With all these things to see, you're going to need some nourishment to sustain the fun. We've been working to make sure that the Show this year reflects what we know our visitors want - top quality food from local farmers and producers at great value prices.
We've more bars and local ales, ciders and wines to offer refreshment and to showcase the many drinks producers of Kent, Sussex and Surrey.
The Food Hall returns with its huge array of meat, fish, cheese, pies, oysters, cakes, breads, chutneys and fudge. It's full of gift ideas - many people start stocking up on delicacies for Christmas!
Let's get vintage!
Balance out the fast pace of our cracking arena displays with a gentle wander through our vintage sections. Our exhibitors' cars date back to 1907 and there's everything from the sporty to the majestic. There's vintage tractors, steam engines and working historic farm machinery to help bring the farming of yesteryear to life.
