We're an event that seeks to be inclusive and to welcome as many people as possible through our gates on 30th & 31st August. We’re often asked about accessibility for people with additional needs so we hope this page can help provide answers to frequent questions.
Our site is a large venue, a farm that’s used for sheep grazing for the majority of the year. Whilst there are some trackways, the majority of our show takes place on a grass surface. The internal showground is around 50 acres in size. Given the size of the site and the mainly grass surface, we don’t recommend the site as being suitable for wheelchairs. It’s a hard push, particularly if it’s at all wet underfoot.
Scooter hire
We do offer a scooter hire service through our partner Advanced Mobility. You can book online HERE or you can book by calling 01274 297777. Scooter hire costs just £35 per day. Scooters are rarely available on the day so please book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Parking
Blue badge parking is available at both our Blue Gate and Red Gate entrances. Look for the road signs and please display your blue badge clearly to help our parking attendants. We recommend arriving early. Whilst close to our entrances which both have scooter hire stands nearby, you may find a short walk necessary to reach the scooter hire stands.
Toilets
There are accessible toilets around the showground. They will be marked on our public maps which you’ll find on boards around the show, in our Show Guide and here online closer to the show.
Carer Tickets
We offer a special discounted ticket rate for verified carers at £10 a ticket. These can be purchased on our website HERE and should be bought together with the full price ticket for the person requiring the care.
When making the purchase you will be asked to upload your proof of carer status (a PIP form or evidence of Carer’s Allowance). Once your purchase has been verified by our ticket team you’ll receive an email to confirm you can download your tickets.
This is a change to our approach from previous years but faced with steeply rising costs for all aspects of our show, from loos to security, parking, marquees, electricity and insurance etc, then we can no longer afford to subsidise visits to the full extent that we have in the past. We thank you for your understanding and hope that we continue to offer incredible value in return for that ticket price with all our visitors enjoying a truly great day out.
Viewing Platform & Picnic Benches
Next to our Main Ring (near to the Members' Marquee and the ring entrance) you'll find a raised viewing platform with ramp. This facility has been very kindly sponsored by Southborough Scaffold Services Ltd.
You may also wish to seek out our accessible picnic tables, specially designed to better accommodate visitors in wheelchairs or scooters.
