Learn about wool and see the spinners at work in our wool marquee with fleece competition in the sheep section of the showground. There will be spinning demonstrations throughout the day from East Grinstead Spinners. East Grinstead Spinners meet once a month and enjoy sharing ideas, learning new skills, and spinning, weaving or dyeing among friends. Demonstrations enable them to meet the public and explain how wool makes its way from the back of a sheep to becoming a woollen thread, which can then be knitted into a jumper or woven into a fabric. Various types of fibre and spinning wheels will be on display; adults and children alike will have an opportunity to try their hand with a drop spindle and weaving on a basic loom.
