August Update - it's all coming together!

Sun 15th Aug 2021
As the marquee build begins, read all about our latest plans here.

Tickets can be bought online now for the Edenbridge and Oxted Agricultural Show which returns on Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday – the perfect event to meet up with friends and family for a staycation adventure.

The organisers have been working round the clock to arrange an event that includes all the favourites the Show is known for. Marvel at the bravery of the young jockeys as they ride in the Shetland Pony Grand National and watch the majestic water buffalo who’ll be enjoying their very own wallow pond. Learn all about the many different breeds of farm animal on show – from poultry to goats, pigs, sheep and the hugely popular cattle competitions.

The fast and furious M.A.D. Mountain Bike Display Team are back too – these fearless riders are the best in Europe, bringing high octane fun to proceedings.

Country skills, sports, crafts, vintage vehicles and rural traditions remain at the heart of the Show, with the South East Gundogs team back in action, dog agility competitions, blacksmiths, farriers and hounds. See the best that local green-fingered gardeners and creative floral art enthusiasts have produced in the relaxing environment of the horticulture tent.

The equestrian section returns bigger than ever; there’s a packed programme of showing classes, showjumping from beginner to expert level, the ever-popular Shires, carriage driving and the wonderful spectacle of the scurry competition.

Along with the full programme of scheduled activities, there’s so much on offer to make for a day packed with fun. Over 200 trade stands mean that visitors can shop to their heart’s content; local artisan food and drink producers are all on hand to make sure no one goes hungry or thirsty.

Caring about COVID

Much thought and preparation has gone into making the event as COVID-safe as possible and things will look and feel a little different. The showground layout has been redesigned to reduce crowding and to improve the experience both for competitors and visitors. Marquees will have sides removed where possible and volunteers will be helping to manage numbers within. Visitors will be asked to bring and wear a mask when they’re in a marquee space to help protect themselves and those working within these areas. There are handwash and sanitiser points throughout, and more seating areas so you can relax without feeling crowded.

A word from our Chairman, local farmer Louise Young

The Edenbridge & Oxted Show is a charity, suffering a heavy financial loss from the forced cancellation of the 2020 event. The support of our many volunteers, of local businesses, of our trade stands, our competitors and of course of our visitors, has been phenomenal this year as we’ve worked so hard to get the event up and running again. I want to express my very grateful thanks to all for their continuing support.

The public can buy their tickets with confidence that we have a well-organised and well-established event that will never fail to put safety first. I’m very proud that as a team we’ve managed to bring plans together to return this year, stronger than ever.

I know how much people are looking forward to getting back to events like the Edenbridge & Oxted Show. It’s been far too long and it’s going to be a very joyful occasion with old friends able to meet again at last. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back.
