Each equestrian exhibitor will be charged a £5 first aid levy fee. This is compulsory for each exhibitor and will automatically be applied at the checkout.

CLASS RULES, REGULATIONS & QUALIFIERS
This show is affiliated to The Coloured Horse & Pony Society (UK). Affiliation No. 24-142. Both owner and the rider/exhibitor need not be a member of CHAPS (UK) nor must the horse or pony be registered with CHAPS (UK) to compete. However, in order to qualify for the CHAPS UK Championship Show 2025, both Owner and Rider/Exhibitor need to be a current Showing Member and have a valid Qualifier card. Members should apply to CHAPS UK for the appropriate Qualifier Card. The CHAPS (UK) 2024 Championship Show will be held on 15th-17th August 2024. This Show is a qualifier for The CHAPS (UK) 2025 Championship Show. The following classes are CHAPS (UK) Qualifiers: E74, E75, E76, E77 & E78. Only Skewbalds/Piebalds may compete these classes. 

Coloured Horse & Pony of the Year
This competition is open to mares, geldings, and CHAPS (UK) graded stallions, four years old or over, to be registered in, and complying with the showing requirements of, the main body of the stud books of the Coloured Horse and Pony Society CHAPS (UK) or the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association (TGCA). Stallions are required to wear stallion discs in order to compete.
All Riders and owners must be Members of the Coloured Horse and Pony Society, The Showing Register or the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association. These classes will be run in accordance with the general rules as set out in the Horse of the Year Show rulebook, a copy of which can be downloaded from www.hoys.co.uk. This is a Horse of the Year Show Qualifier, all data given upon entry of this class is provided to Grandstand Media Limited and stored on the Grandstand Entries System. Exhibitors are required by DEFRA to carry with them Official Identity Documents for all horses/ponies when competing or travelling. Competitors are reminded that it is a DEFRA requirement that the Official Identity Documents must be in the name of the legal owner within 30 days of ownership. This must be registered with the breed society, relevant studbook or ID issuing agency, dependant on breed/type of animal. Spot checks may be carried out at qualifying shows and by breed societies.

Please note that at Horse of the Year Show, ponies must not compete in both the Junior Coloured Ridden Pony of the Year and the Coloured Ridden Pony of the Year classes. The pony will compete in the class in which it qualifies first during the season. Riders and ponies may compete in both section A, section B and section D at HOYS qualifiers. Once a pony has qualified in either section A, section B or section D, it will no longer be eligible to compete in the section in which it has not qualified.

Marks will be awarded in the following way:
Ride/Performance 50 Marks Maximum
Conformation, Movement & Quality 50 Marks Maximum
In the case of equality, the horse with the highest Ride/Performance mark will be deemed the winner. If there is still equality at this point, then the judges’ decision will be final.

These classes are a qualifying class for Horse of the Year Show, NEC, Birmingham, 9th- 13th October 2024. Qualification will not pass below 5th place. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show office.

Supreme Ridden Horse Championship
The winner of class E75 & E76 will go forward to the Supreme Ridden Horse Championship, held on Monday afternoon in the Main Ring. Stabling is available free of charge, please contact the Show Office to make arrangements.

Class E79: Non-Native Ridden Coloured Championship

1st and 2nd placed prize winners in classes E75 & E77 and the highest placed Non-Native Pony in E74  will be eligible for this championship.
