Equestrian - Opening Notes

Please register for membership of the Edenbridge & Oxted Agricultural Show to receive discounted entry fees where applicable. You must have submitted and completed your membership order before entering the class in order to avail of the discount. 

Each equestrian exhibitor will be charged a £5 first aid levy fee. This is compulsory for each exhibitor and will automatically be applied at the checkout.

CLASS RULES, REGULATIONS & QUALIFIERS
This class is unaffiliated and open to mares or geldings, 4 years old and over, that have not won a first prize of £60 or a total of £200 (or equivalent values) in prize money in any Ridden Hunter classes at home or abroad, before 1st January in the current year. All prize money awarded as a 4 year old will be ignored. This class may be split, at the judges' discretion, by height. Horses to be ridden by the judge.

The Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) £2000 Ridden Challenge 2027 Qualifier
This show is a qualifier for the Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) £2,000 Ridden Challenge. The highest placed horse (not already qualified) from class E115 that is registered or eligible for registration on the Irish Draught or Irish Draught Sport Horse Register, with a minimum of 25% proven Irish Draught breeding, will qualify for the final of the IDHS (GB) £2,000 Challenge. Horse need not be registered with/overstamped by the IDHS (GB) to qualify but must be on the IDHS (GB) Registers by the time of the Championships. 
In the final, the Champion will be awarded £1000 prize money, the Reserve Champion will be awarded £500, and 3rd to 7th inclusive will be awarded £100 each. In addition, the highest placed Purebred Irish Draught will receive a £100, and the highest placed Sport Horse/Part bred will receive £50.

GENERAL QUALIFYING ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (You don’t have to be a member to enter but you must be by the time of the final)

Important please read

  • All horses must be registered with or overstamped by the IDHS (GB) and in the correct ownership
  • Owners of Pure bred Irish Draughts and Irish Draught Sport Horses/Part bred)must now be full members of the IDHS (GB) to compete
  • Irish Draught Sport Horses/Part bred are horses that have a minimum of 25% proven
  • All pure-bred Irish Draught Stallions 

- must be inspected and overstamped by the IDHS (GB) and be Class 1, 2 or RID (GB).

- Stallions must display a red, white and blue ribbon in their tails and be shown by experienced rider/handlers over 18 years of age

  • Ridden horses must be 153cm (15hh) or over.

GENERAL QUALIFIER INFORMATION:

  • The Finals of all IDHS (GB) qualifiers will be held at the IDHS (GB) National Championship Show on 5th & 6th September 2026 at Venue TBC.
  • All owners of qualified horses will be contacted by a member of the IDHS (GB) Show Affiliation Team
  • Horses can only qualify for a specific Final once, regardless of the type or number of classes won, placed in or entered
  • See respective qualifying classes for relevant details of the Finals
